The 1st Erasmus+ “The Crux” Project Meeting

The CRUX First Project meeting took place at Northumbria University to discuss organizational issues and plan of actions for the project implementation. The meeting was attended by teams from Northumbria University (UNN, Newcastle, UK), The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM, Ciudad Real, Spain), The Polytechnic University of Marche (UNIVPM, Ancona, Italy), The Federal University of Itajuba (UNIFEI, Itajuba, Brazil), The Federal University of Bahia (UFBA, Salvador, Brazil), The Industrial University of Santander (UIS, Bucaramanga, Columbia); The University of Santander (UDES, Bucaramanga, Colombia), The University of Oriente (UdO, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba) and Instituto Superior Politécnico José Antonio Echeverría (CUJAE, La-Habana, Cuba).
The Presentations described aims, objectives and activities of the CRUX Project and its implementation at Partner Universities in Brazil, Colombia and Cuba. Presenters also discussed research activities at Universities of the Project Consortium in the area of Renewable Energy Technologies.
The meeting was kicked-off with presentations on the teaching and research activities and infrastructure available for each team in the Project Consortium.
Aim and objectives of the CRUX Project were confirmed and details of cooperation, management and communication arrangements were discussed. Membership of the Project Executive Committee (PEC) was finalised and External experts were nominated. Preliminary list of modules to be enhanced or newly developed were discussed for teaching undergraduate and MSc students. Proposals were considered on improvement of Skills Development (SD) of PhD students at Partner Universities.
Project Methodology and Project activities were ratified and plans on implementation of Project Work Packages were discussed for the full duration of the project with tasks identified for each team.
The list of deliverables to be achieved prior to the Second Project Meeting was approved with contributions to be made by each team.
The specialised workshop was provided by representatives of Financial and Legal Teams of Northumbria University on the Partnership Agreement details, Legal and Financial issues and procedures on implementation of the project activities.
